PKR edges higher against USD

November 25, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 4.05 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.57 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.61.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.80 and a low (ask) of 281.60.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.40 for buying and 281.65 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 18.70 paisa or 0.06% against the Euro, closing at 323.27 compared to the previous value of 323.46.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 36.77 paisa or 0.10% to 368.08 compared to 367.71 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 30.75 paisa or 0.09% against Swiss franc to close at 346.77.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 0.08 paisa or 0.04% to close the session at 1.7911 versus 1.7903 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee depreciated 5.55 paisa or 0.14% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.54 from 39.49.

The local currency rose by 1.28 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.80. While it appreciated by 0.37 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.40.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 3.20 rupees or 1.14%. While it has depreciated 2.02 rupees or 0.72% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.94% and 11.19%.
