PKR closes at 280.92 per USD

October 30, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 3.59 paisa against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.92 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.96.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.00 and a low (ask) of 281.95.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.05 for buying and 282.05 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 51.92 paisa or 0.16% against the Euro, closing at 326.19 compared to the previous value of 326.71.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 55.31 paisa or 0.15% to 370.62 compared to 371.18 a day ago.

The local unit increased 1.10 rupees or 0.31% against Swiss franc to close at 351.42.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 1.82 paisa or 0.99% to close the session at 1.8263 versus 1.8445 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 5.85 paisa or 0.15% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.52 from 39.58.

The local currency gained by 1.35 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.91. While it appreciated by 0.97 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.48.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.84 rupees or 1.01%. While it has fell 2.37 rupees or 0.84% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.95% and 11.20%.
