January 22, 2026 (MLN): Nestlé is set to invest $60 million in Pakistan, aimed to expand its operations and position
the country as a regional manufacturing and export hub.
The company plans to export products to 26 countries and
expects strong growth in its Pakistani business in the coming years.
The development was shared during a high-level Business
Roundtable chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator
Muhammad Aurangzeb, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual
Meeting in Davos.
The meeting brought together CEOs and senior leaders of
leading global corporations to discuss Pakistan’s reform trajectory, investment
climate, and long-term growth potential, according to a press release issued.
Mr. Remy Ejel, Executive Vice President and CEO for Asia,
Oceania, and Africa at Nestlé, highlighted the company’s strategy focused on
localization, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and agricultural
transformation.
Nestlé has advanced technology-driven manufacturing in
Pakistan with highly automated facilities, increased use of renewable energy,
improved packaging solutions, and digitalized supply chains that enhance
efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
Globally, Nestlé operates in over 180 countries, employs more than 277,000 people, and reported revenues of around $114.25 billion in 2025.
Mr. Ejel noted that Pakistan’s demographic profile, rising nutrition
needs, and underdeveloped value-added food segments resemble successful growth
patterns seen in Southeast Asia.
Welcoming Nestlé’s investment, Senator Aurangzeb called it a
strong vote of confidence in Pakistan’s economic reforms and formalization
drive. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the tax
ecosystem, ensuring policy consistency, and supporting long-term private sector
investment.
The minister also highlighted opportunities in affordable nutrition, climate-resilient dairy, localized sourcing, and export-oriented manufacturing, underlining Pakistan’s ambition to become a competitive hub for regional production and global value chains.
