IRSA releases 268,800 cusecs water

The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Wednesday released 268,800 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 211,000 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1418.28 feet, which was 38.28 feet higher than its dead level of 1,380 feet.

Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 109,700 cusecs while outflow as 153,800 cusecs.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1119.30 feet, which was 79.30 feet higher than its dead level of 1,040 feet as the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 26,300 cusecs and 40,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 171,000, 186,400 and 87,800 cusecs respectively.

Similarly from the Kabul River, 43,100 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 4,000 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala.

The total storage stood at 1.416 MAF.
