How much is Altern Energy forgoing while terminating key power, gas agreements?

November 26, 2025 (MLN): Altern Energy Limited (PSX: ALTN) has agreed to forego a Rs40 million claim related to RLNG differential pricing as part of a newly initialled Termination Agreement (TA), the company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.

The TA, initialled on November 24, 2025, involves AEL, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (GOP), and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G).

The agreement follows shareholder approval obtained during an Extraordinary General Meeting on April 17, 2025.

Under the terms of the TA, the following contracts and instruments will be terminated by mutual consent:

• The Implementation Agreement (IA) was executed with the GOP.
• The Guarantee issued by the GOP.
• The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was executed with CPPA-G.
• The Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) was executed with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.

AEL noted that all parties are now required to procure necessary approvals to formally execute and deliver the agreement at the earliest, signaling a significant restructuring in the company’s contractual obligations in Pakistan’s energy sector.
