September 03, 2025 (MLN): The Hub Power Company (PSX: HUBC) has released its consolidated financial results for the year ended June 30, 2025, reporting a significant decline in profitability.

The company’s Net Profit for the Year decreased by 31.2%, falling to Rs51.77bn from Rs75.30bn in the previous fiscal year.

This decline was primarily driven by early termination of power purchase agreement of Hub plant.

The company's Profit from Operations saw a substantial drop of 43.5%, amounting to Rs38.04bn compared to Rs67.36bn in FY24.

This was largely a result of a 36.1% decrease in Revenue from contracts with customers, which fell from Rs130.5bn in FY24 to Rs83.35bn in FY25.

Additionally, despite a decrease in Cost of revenue, the gross profit still declined by 41.7%.

A major contributing factor to the reduced profitability was the 43.0% decrease in Finance costs, which stood at Rs 15.23bn compared to Rs26.74bn in FY24.

The company's Share of profit from associates and joint ventures also saw a decline of 16.3% while taxation for the year amounted to Rs12.5bn.

Basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) attributable to owners of the holding company followed the same trend, decreasing by 34.1% to Rs35.56 from Rs53.98 in the previous year.
