Govt to provide telecommunication, broadband services to underserved areas of country: Minister

May 27, 2021: Minister for Information Technology Amin-ul-Haq has said the government has accelerated efforts to provide telecommunication and broadband services to the underserved areas of the country.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said thirty one billion rupees have been invested over the last two and a half years to improve these services in the country.

The Minister said an Information Technology Park is being established in Islamabad on an area of fifteen acre and it will be completed in three years. He work on Karachi IT Park will also be started soon. He said the establishment of IT Parks will further bolster our IT related exports.

The Minister for Information Technology said whilst penetration of 4G services is being increased, the 5G wireless technology will be introduced by the end of this year.
