July 21, 2025 (MLN): Following the recent spell of heavy rains and flash floods across Punjab, including Jhelum, authorities have begun the process of assessing the extent of damage to both citizens and infrastructure.

According to Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, Bilal Azhar Kiyani, a transparent, accurate, and fair survey is being conducted to ensure that all affected individuals receive due compensation.

He added that restoration work for both the public and damaged infrastructure has already been initiated.

During his visit to severely affected areas such as Khurd Chotala, Rasul Nagar, Dadupur, and Umber, the minister met with residents, ensuring them that fair compensation will be provided through a transparent survey

However, he checked the availability of doctors and medicine in medical camps and veterinary services for livestock.

Furthermore, he assured that, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, every victim would receive due support.

Earlier, he honored Punjab Police martyr Hayder Ali Hussain in Jalalpur Sharif for his heroic rescue efforts during the flood.
