March 09, 2026 (MLN): Fatima Fertilizer Company
Limited (PSX: FATIMA) reported a robust 16% increase in net profit, reaching
Rs42.06bn for the year ended December 31, 2025, compared to Rs36.39bn in the
previous year.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) grew proportionately,
rising to Rs20.03 from Rs17.33 in the corresponding period last year.
The company also gave a final Cash Dividend for the year
ended December 31, 2025, at Rs. 2.50 per share i.e. 25%.
This is in addition to the interim Dividend already paid at
Rs. 3.50 per share i.e. 35%.
This solid bottom-line growth was supported by steady
top-line expansion and a massive boost from other income. The company’s sales
grew by 7.5% year-on-year, reaching Rs276.18bn up from Rs256.92bn.
Cost of sales increased at a slightly faster pace of 10%,
rising to Rs181.75bn from Rs165.10bn. Despite the higher direct costs, the
overall volume of sales pushed gross profit up by nearly 3% to Rs94.42bn from
Rs91.82bn.
On the operating side, overheads bit into the gross margins.
Distribution costs surged 20% to Rs17.31bn, and
administrative expenses increased 6% to Rs11.04bn. Furthermore, finance costs
saw a sharp 56% spike, climbing to Rs7.94bn from Rs5.08bn.
However, the company found major relief in its "other
operating expenses," which were slashed by nearly half (46%), dropping
down to Rs5.82bn from Rs10.77bn in the prior year.
Below the operating line, Fatima Fertilizer's profitability
was supercharged by a 29% jump in other income, which brought in a massive
Rs16.19bn compared to Rs12.50bn last year.
Profit before tax grew 9% to Rs68.34bn from Rs62.83bn.
Interestingly, despite the higher pre-tax profit, the
company’s taxation expense remained flat, even dipping slightly by 0.6% to
Rs26.28bn.
This combination of higher other income, reduced operating
expenses, and stable taxation allowed the final net profit to surge 16% to
Rs42.06bn.
