China eyes ICT, energy projects in Pakistan

July 28,2025(MLN): China’s GuoDong Group expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s telecommunication infrastructure, renewable energy ventures and projects such as electric vehicle charging networks, smart city solutions and advanced material manufacturing.

This was discussed during a meeting between Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and the GuoDong group’s Founder and Chairman, Mr. Lu Jie, in Shanghai, said a press release issued yesterday.

The Minister welcomed the proposals and invited the GuoDong Group to visit Pakistan for detailed talks with relevant stakeholders, assuring full government support to facilitate the potential investments in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Nation Pakistan” vision.
