Big Bird Foods bags Gulf halal poultry export order

July 16, 2026 (MLN): Big Bird Foods Limited (PSX:BBFL) has secured a significant export order from a Gulf-based halal food company for the supply of raw chicken and further processed poultry products, a move expected to nearly double the company's current export volumes.

The company has stated that additional upside potential exists as production capacity is expanded and further product categories are introduced.

Based on current projections, the contract is expected to add Rs1.2bn in annual revenues.

BBFL said the development marked another important step in its export growth strategy, reflecting increasing global demand for premium, high-quality halal poultry products.

The global halal food market is currently estimated to exceed $900mn annually and is projected to grow to over $1.4tr by 2034, presenting significant long-term opportunities for established halal producers with internationally compliant processing facilities.

The company noted that Pakistan's annual meat exports are expected to exceed $500mn in FY26, and given the strong growth prospects of the global halal food market, Pakistan is well positioned to increase its export footprint.

BBFL said it is expected to benefit from its Gulf-based contracts, supporting higher foreign exchange earnings and a more diversified revenue base, with management remaining optimistic that these partnerships will serve as a platform for further expansion as export demand continues to grow, reinforcing the company's position in international halal food markets.
