100 Index ends the day on a positive note

The benchmark KSE 100 index ended the session on a positive note, having climbed 133 points to reach 39,586 points, up by 0.34%. High for the day was recorded at 40,061 points while it touched a low of 39,209, travelling between a range of 852 points.


The volume traded at KSE - 100 clocked in at 72.4 million shares by the end of today’s session, showing a considerable decline from 116.5 million shares recorded during yesterday’s session. 


Sector wise top performers for the day were the Fertilizer industry, Commercial Banks and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies after they contributed a total of 176.5 points to the index. On the other hand, Food & Personal Care Products, Tobacco, Insurance and Automobile Parts & Accessories topped the list of worst performing sector of the day, having collectively deducted a sum of 102.31 from the 100 index today.


53 Companies were recorded to have ended the day in positive, while 41 companies ended negatively by the end of the day on the KSE – 100 index.
The broader, KSE All Share index closed in at 28,966.85 points, having taken a leap of 20.19 points or 0.07%. High for the day reached 29,268 points while the low logged in at 28,706.69 points. A volume of 128.3 million shares was traded by the day end, at a value of PKR 5.97 billion.
Cement Sector, after trading a volume of 18.5 million shares, led the sector turnover, closely followed by Commercial Banks (15.7 million) and Technology & Communication (9.5 million) 


A total of 162 companies closed in positively whereas 135 companies ended the day negatively within KSE All Share.
