World bank lauds MoITT’s steps to boost digitalization

December 2, 2021 (MLN): World Bank’s Country Director Najy Benhassine lauded the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT)’s steps to boost connectivity and digitalization during a meeting with Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque, said a press release issued on Wednesday.

While talking to World Bank Country Director, Syed Amin Ul Haque said under Digital Pakistan, the vision Ministry of IT & Telecom is committed to minimize the digital divide between urban and rural areas of the country.

He said that steps are being taken for the provision of broadband services in unserved and underserved areas of the country.

“IT sector of Pakistan has great potential,” he noted.

IT Minister also added that World Bank has a pivotal role in the capacity building in the technology sector of Pakistan.

Matters related to connectivity and e-governance were discussed during the meeting.

Secretary IT Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput and senior officers of the Ministry were also present in the meeting.
