Weekly SPI Increases by 0.29 percent

February 10, 2019 (MLN): Pakistan’s Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the combined group increased by 0.29 percent compared to previous week (Jan 31, 2019) and increased by 9.24 percent compared to the corresponding period from last year (Feb 08, 2018).

According to figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the weekly SPI increase ranged between 0.25 and 0.35 percent among all income groups with the largest weekly increase of 0.35 percent witnessed in the lowest income group and the smallest increase of 0.25 percent seen in the highest income group.

On a yearly basis, the SPI increased in a range between 5.77 percent and 13.74 percent, with the smallest income group (Up to Rs.8000) increasing by 5.77 percent and the Highest income group (Above Rs.35,000) increasing by 13.74 percent.

The comparative prices of the 53 monitored items showed an increase in the average price of 12 items with 13 registering a decrease and 28 remaining unchanged.
