Weekly SCRA records Rs1.67bn purchase

November 02, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended October 25, 2024 clocked in at Rs1.67bn, as compared to a net sale worth Rs415.42 million recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs27.6bn, which is around 78.36% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs29.28bn, which is 94.39% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs1.67bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs14.22bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs12.13bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs14.88bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs13.22bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs27bn, which marks a rise of Rs806.25m over the week.
