Weekly SCRA records net sale of Rs138m

January 18, 2024 (MLN): The net sale of securities for the week ended January 12, 2024 clocked in at Rs137.78 million, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs1.56 billion recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs3.73bn, which is around 11.81% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs3.59bn, which is 37.92% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net sale of Rs137.78m for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs2.19bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs499m.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs1.37bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.32bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs25.25bn, which marks a rise of Rs408.16m over the week.
