August 24, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday’s trading session at 176,966.68, showing a decrease of 199.84 points or 0.11%.

The index traded in a range of 1,387.30 points, posting an intraday high of 178,122.87 (+956.35) and a low of 176,735.57 (-430.95) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 443.75 million shares.


The market remained volatile as investors booked profits in key heavyweight stocks after recent gains, while uncertainty surrounding regional geopolitical developments and oil prices kept sentiment cautious.

Of the 100 index companies, 48 closed up, 51 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were POWER (+5.33%), MLCF (+3.88%), DGKC (+3.05%), SSGC (+2.91%), and GHGL (+2.86%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-10.00%), SRVI (-4.33%), TRG (-3.17%), AGP (-2.80%), and HUMNL (-2.20%).


In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-131.44pts), MEBL (-97.54pts), SRVI (-81.02pts), SYS (-77.99pts), and MCB (-64.91pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were OGDC (+120.38pts), PPL (+118.53pts), MLCF (+63.43pts), DGKC (+50.11pts), and FCCL (+40.12pts).


Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-249.21pts), Technology & Communication (-124.31pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-117.99pts), Leather & Tanneries (-81.02pts), and Refinery (-32.13pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+219.11pts), Cement (+178.93pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+20.74pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+18.86pts), and Glass & Ceramics (+13.89pts).


In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 107,599.75 with a net loss of 41.90 points or 0.04%.

Total market volume was 933.52 million shares compared to 689.17m from the previous session, while traded value was recorded at Rs44.10 billion, showing an increase of Rs8.44bn.

There were 462,372 trades reported in 498 companies, with 222 closing up, 241 closing down, and 35 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 3,335 points or 1.85% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 2,912 points or 1.67% so far this calendar year.
