Trading at PMEX dives by 48.3% DoD

Trading activity at PMEX soars by 20.5% DoD

May 07, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Monday plummeted by 48.3% DoD to clock in at Rs19.79 billion with the number of lots traded at 18,367. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,524, up by 1.08% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs11.66bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs2.49bn.

NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.39bn. In addition, Crude Oil, Silver, and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors as well and their transactions stood around Rs1.44bn, Rs1bn and Rs0.95bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs147.1m, DJ at Rs281.8m, Copper at Rs150m, S&P 500 at Rs70.66m, JPY equity at Rs75.52m and Brent at Rs11.13m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 37 lots amounting to Rs49.78m changing hands.
