April 24, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Tuesday rebounded to Rs30.88 billion, up by 4.87% DoD compared to the previous session close of Rs29.44bn.

At the same time, with an increase of 2.7% DoD in the number of lots traded, 21,810 lots changed hands, compared to 21235 during the previous session. While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,309, up by 0.11% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs18.07bn. Following closely behind, NSDQ 100 recorded trading valued at Rs2.83bn.

Currencies through COTS also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs2.31bn. In addition, Platinum, Crude Oil, Silver and Paldium attracted substantial attention from investors as well and their transactions stood around Rs1.54bn, Rs1.89bn, Rs2.9bn, and Rs56m respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs197.98m, DJ at Rs430.13m, Copper at Rs263.28m, S&P 500 at Rs142.85m, and Brent at Rs81.89m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 18 lots amounting to Rs118.43m changing hands.
