Trade deficit decreases by 41.16% YoY in July

August 01, 2023 (MLN): Pakistan's trade deficit for the month of July was $1.607 billion compared to a deficit of $1.863bn from the previous month, marking an improvement of 13.74% MoM.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the trade deficit compared to July 2022's deficit improved by 41.16% as it stood at $2.73bn.
Exports in the month of July decreased by 12.68% to $2.06bn compared to $2.36bn in June 2023.
Similarly, compared to June 2022, exports decreased by 8.57%.
Imports in July 2023 decreased by 13.15%, clocking in at $3.66bn compared to $4.22bn in June 2023.
Similarly, compared to July 2022, imports decreased by 26.44%.
