Govt says burden of power theft will not be shifted to consumers
The Committee constituted vide PM Directive on Inefficiencies and Electricity Theft in DISCOs decided to undertake a comprehensive technical audit of all DISCOs to determine the actual scale, causes and geographical concentration of power theft, as well as technical and commercial losses.

Power Division hails NEPRA's CTBCM use of system charge decision
The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has welcomed the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority's (NEPRA) determination of the Use of System Charge for open access users under the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM) regime, calling it the final regulatory hurdle before the Request for Proposal (RFP) for Pakistan's first CTBCM auction can be issued.

Nepra raises electricity tariff by Rs1.42 per unit
Pakistan’s power regulator, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), has approved an increase of Rs1.42 per unit in electricity prices under the monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) mechanism, attributing the hike to changes in fuel charges for February 2026.
