SSGC imposes 24-hour gas holiday for Sindh industries, CNG stations

May 31, 2024 (MLN): Sui Southern Gas Company (PSX: SSGC) has announced a 24-hour gas holiday for all industries, including their power generation units, and all CNG stations in Sindh (including those being operated on RLNG), according to a notice issued by the company yesterday.

This decision comes due to the shortages of gas supplies in SSGC's system, which has resulted in decreased availability of gas, depletion of line pack, and consequently low pressures in the system.

To effectively manage gas load according to the approved sectorial priority order, in force for gas load management, the following schedule is given for gas holiday:

Gas Closure Ends	Monday	June 3, 2024	8:00 AM
Total Duration of Closure	24 hours

SSGC further warned that it will take strict action against any industry found violating this Gas Holiday Period and subsequently their gas supplies will be disconnected for at least seven days.
