Scheduled bank deposits reach Rs25.7tr in July 2023

August 09, 2023 (MLN): The total deposits held by scheduled banks have moved up by 16.3% YoY to Rs25.7 trillion in July 2023 compared to Rs22.1tr in July 2022.
According to data released by the SBP, Banks deposits have edged higher by 0.76% MoM, compared to Rs.25.5 tr in June 2023.
Total advances increased by 9.58 % to Rs11.89 tr compared to Rs10.85 from a year ago. On a monthly basis, advances decreased by 2.5 % from its values of Rs12.2 tr in June 2023.
Advances to Deposit Ratio (ADR) stood at 46.29% showing a decrease of 155 bps on a monthly basis and a decrease of 284 bps on a yearly basis.
Total Investments of Scheduled Banks stood at Rs21.46 tr compared to Rs20.89 tr from a month ago and Rs17.6 tr from a year ago, showing an MoM increase of 2.74% and a Y.o.Y decrease of 21.92%.
Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved up by 160 bps to 83.52% compared to June 2023 and increased by 385 bps when compared to a year ago.
