SBP to remain closed on May 28 on account of Youm-e-Takbeer

May 23, 2025 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 28, 2025 (Wednesday) being public holiday on the occasion of "Youm-e-Takbeer", as declared by the Government of Pakistan.

The central bank informed this through notices issued.

Youm-e-Takbir is celebrated as a national day in Pakistan on 28 May in commemoration of Chagai-I and Chagai-II series of nuclear tests.

The day made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and the first Muslim state to exercise maximum deterrence for peaceful purposes.
