SBP to announce Monetary Policy decision on January 29

January 23, 2023 (MLN): The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will meet on Monday, January 29, 2024 to decide about the Monetary Policy.

Governor SBP, Jameel Ahmad will announce the Monetary Policy decision at a press conference on the same day after the MPC meeting.

It is pertinent to note that market participants are widely expecting that the central bank would keep interest rates unchanged.

In the last MPC meeting on December 12, 2023 the committee decided to keep interest rate unchanged at 22% for the fourth consecutive meeting.
