Quarterly sales of farm tractors tumble by 12.6%: PAMA

October 16, 2018 (MLN): According to the statistics released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), during the period from July-Sept 2018, overall sales of the farm tractors has declined by 12.6% as compared to the previous year of the same period.

The official data reveals that the total production of jeeps, pick-up vans and farm tractors has declined by 10.19% during the period under consideration.

Meanwhile domestic production of jeeps during the period from July-Sept 2018 has decreased by 22.46% as about 2147 jeeps were assembled this year as compared to 2769 of same period last year.

During the month, a total of 704 jeeps produced whereas 721 jeeps were produced during the preceding month and 933 units were produced during September 2017.

Honda BR-V took the lead in sales and production as it produced 1501 units and sold 1293 units during the period July-Sept 2018.

Overall sale of jeeps from period July to Sept 2018 has shrunk by 33.67% as compare to the previous year of the same period.

During the period from  July-Sept 2018, 6873 pick-ups were produced out of which 5231 units were sold as compared to 71710 pick-ups were produced of which 6966 were sold during the previous year of the same period,  showing a decline of 4.24% and 24.9% in production and sales respectively.

Production of farm tractors during the same period in a year 2018 has shrunk by 10.57% as about 13939 farm tractors were manufactured in this year as compared to 15618 units last year.

Massey Ferguson outpaced rest of the manufacturers in the sales and production of farm tractors as it produced 10270 units and sold 10014 units during the period July-Sept 2018.
