Punjab government to convert 20,000 schools to solar energy

The goverment of Punjab will convert 20,000 schools to solar energy at the cost of Rs9 billion under the Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review the program said that solar panels will be installed in ten thousand schools of southern Punjab.

“The Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme is an excellent and unique intiative for education,” he said. “A bright future for the nation will bring prosperity to Pakistan.”

He directed the authorities concerned to implement effective monitoring mechanism for execution of the programme.
