PSX Closing Bell: Yesterday

March 11, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 114,177.65, showing a decrease of 178.69 points or 0.16%.

The index traded in a range of 875.88 points showing an intraday high of 114,486.19 (+129.85) and a low of 113,610.31 (-746.03) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 171.98 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 26 closed up, 71 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PGLC (-6.48%), PKGP (-5.56%), SRVI (-5.25%), IBFL (-4.73%), and TGL (-4.28%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PSO (+6.67%), PABC (+4.54%), AKBL (+3.64%), PPL (+2.86%), and SNGP (+2.28%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-80.62pts), SRVI (-53.97pts), FFC (-39.97pts), EFERT (-36.98pts), and SYS (-36.50pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PSO (+164.71pts), PPL (+113.52pts), OGDC (+85.52pts), MEBL (+31.28pts), and HUBC (+31.21pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-107.34pts), Cement (-98.47pts), Fertilizer (-90.87pts), Leather & Tanneries (-53.97pts), and Technology & Communication (-47.23pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+181.61pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+177.70pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+16.09pts), Miscellaneous (+11.28pts), and Chemical (+6.97pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,009.16 with a net loss of 22.52 points or 0.03%.

Total market volume was 318.52 million shares compared to 324.65m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs22.88 billion showing an increase of Rs2.18bn.

There were 198,024 trades reported in 438 companies with 132 closing up, 233 closing down, and 73 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,733 points or 45.55% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 949 points or 0.82% so far this calendar year.
