April 26, 2023 (MLN): Pakistan equities kicked off the week following the Eid holidays on a bullish note as the benchmark KSE-100 index made an intraday high of 41,364.60 on the hope of IMF. 

However, the lack of fresh triggers has forced investors to switch to the cautious mode which led the index to add only 91.76 points to close at 41,099.58.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 41 closed up 44 closed down, while 6 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 82.80 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 56 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 42 points, Technology & Communication with 14 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 10 points, and Refinery with 9 points.

The most points added to the index were by UBL which contributed 44 points followed by DAWH with 43 points, BAHL with 32 points, FFC with 17 points and HUBC with 16 points.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Fertilizer with 28 points, Cement with 17 points, Miscellaneous with 3 points, Glass & Ceramics and Transport with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 33 points followed by HBL with 17 points, KAPCO with 14 points, MTL with 12 points and LUCK with 11 points.

All Share Volume increased by 13.11mn to 186.90mn shares. Market Cap increased by Rs12.53 billion.

The total companies traded were 331 compared to 309 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 174 closed up, 131 closed down and 26 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 23,315 to 95,561.

Value Traded increased by 0.06bn to Rs5.78bn
