November 07, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 92,520.48, showing an increase of 499.04 points or 0.54%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 92,694.53 (+673.09) and a low of 92,185.69 (+164.25) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 322.63 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 56 closed up, 43 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were BNWM (+10.00%), PKGS (+7.96%), HCAR (+7.94%), DAWH (+7.58%), and KOSM (+7.41%).

On the other hand, top losers were FCEPL (-4.36%), EPCL (-3.65%), EFUG (-3.30%), KOHC (-3.13%), and CNERGY (-2.19%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGRO (+123.71pts), DAWH (+123.00pts), OGDC (+98.24pts), HUBC (+67.43pts), and EFERT (+62.76pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS (-61.79pts), HBL (-35.13pts), MEBL (-28.03pts), KOHC (-26.69pts), and CHCC (-21.58pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Fertilizer (+164.55pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+120.34pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+111.65pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+70.10pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (+31.24pts).

While the index was let down by Cement (-45.43pts), Technology & Communication (-37.22pts), Chemical (-16.06pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-11.53pts), and Insurance (-10.53pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 58,870.74 with a net gain of 341.33 points or 0.58%.

Total market volume was 678.79 million shares compared to 889.17m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs24.83 billion showing a decrease of Rs5.65bn.

There were 297,123 trades reported in 449 companies with 257 closing up, 145 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 14,076 points or 17.94% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 30,069 points or 48.15% so far this calendar year.
