November 01, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index maintained its bullish momentum, adding 422.37 points or 0.81% to close the day at 52,342.64, inching closer to its all-time high.

This comes after the index recorded the highest-ever monthly close yesterday at 51,920.

The index remained positive through the day, showing an intraday high of 52,451.21 (+530.93) and a low of 52,075.16 (+154.89) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 258.24 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 63 closed up, 24 closed down, while 13 remained untraded.

KSE-100 index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution with 75.69, Commercial Banks with 59.37, Cement with 52.73, Textile Composite with 51.15, and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 45.37 points.

Companies adding points to the index were HUBC with 78.48, POL with 33.25, ILP with 31.07, HBL with 29.8, and SYS with 23.1 points.

KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer with 17.01, Miscellaneous with 15.36, Refinery with 3.94, Transport with 1.68, and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 1.62 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were ENGRO with 31.35, PSEL with 15.74, SHEL with 15.49, UBL with 8.92 and KEL with 8.25 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 34,819.38 with a net gain of 261.16 points.

Total market volume was 526.463 million shares compared to 455.332 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs16.51 billion showing an increase of Rs0.87bn.

There were 210,945 trades reported in 353 companies with 216 closing up, 119 closing down and 18 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 10,890 points or 26.27% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 11,922 points, equivalent to 29.5% in the KSE-100.
