February 20, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 113,739.15, showing an increase of 396.72 points or 0.35%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 114,202.13 (+859.70) and a low of 113,525.89 (+183.46) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 507.75 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 56 closed up, 42 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PIOC (+10.00%), SHEL (+10.00%), CHCC (+9.96%), KTML (+9.96%), and MEHT (+8.44%).

On the other hand, top losers were ABOT (-10.00%), KEL (-3.48%), BNWM (-3.18%), HGFA (-2.50%), and EPCL (-2.14%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were CHCC (+100.13pts), FCCL (+79.83pts), PIOC (+63.17pts), DGKC (+58.14pts), and MCB (+51.92pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ABOT (-85.54pts), HUBC (-59.78pts), BAHL (-45.53pts), ENGROH (-40.72pts), and MARI (-39.97pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+361.67pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+77.39pts), Textile Composite (+60.07pts), Commercial Banks (+30.46pts), and Cable & Electrical Goods (+25.33pts).

While the index was let down by Pharmaceuticals (-120.67pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-61.95pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-27.37pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-13.36pts), and Automobile Assembler (-12.72pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,475.69 with a net gain of 239.98 points or 0.34%.

Total market volume was 787.44 million shares compared to 667.72m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs33.10 billion showing an increase of Rs7.36bn.

There were 312,829 trades reported in 453 companies with 223 closing up, 176 closing down, and 54 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,294 points or 44.99% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,388 points or 1.21% so far this calendar year.
