January 30, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 113,206.40, showing an increase of 1,719.04 points or 1.54%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 113,400.56 (+1,913.20) and a low of 111,805.66 (+318.30) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 172.24 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 78 closed up, 21 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were ATLH (+10.00%), MARI (+10.00%), KTML (+6.01%), BAHL (+5.82%), and NRL (+5.60%).

On the other hand, top losers were POML (-4.40%), EFUG (-1.97%), PABC (-1.96%), PKGS (-1.67%), and LCI (-1.56%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MARI (+426.02pts), BAHL (+193.94pts), LUCK (+107.05pts), PSO (+98.55pts), and HUBC (+97.77pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were BAFL (-11.96pts), LCI (-8.34pts), PKGS (-7.81pts), THALL (-6.86pts), and PABC (-6.50pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+590.09pts), Commercial Banks (+318.29pts), Cement (+150.59pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+140.61pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+132.36pts).

While the index was let down by Paper, Board & Packaging (-7.81pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-6.86pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (-5.97pts), Chemical (-3.72pts), and Vanaspati & Allied Industries (-0.65pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,112.12 with a net gain of 1,093.27 points or 1.58%.

Total market volume was 483.94 million shares compared to 449.24m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs26.10 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.08bn.

There were 279,513 trades reported in 441 companies with 272 closing up, 118 closing down, and 51 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,761 points or 44.31% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,920 points or 1.67% so far this calendar year.
