President calls for strengthening transport, communication infrastructure in ECO region

March 14, 2019: President Dr. Arif Alvi has stressed for further strengthening transport and communication infrastructure in the ECO region to facilitate trade and investment.

Talking to Secretary General to Economic Cooperation Organization Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour in Islamabad on Thursday, he said this region has the potential and capacity to function as a bridge between North and South as well as Europe and Asia.

He said Pakistan is upgrading its rail and road infrastructure to facilitate smooth flow of goods to its neighbors and to promote trade opportunities within the region.
