June 17, 2022 (MLN): In a move to meet the gas requirement of the country, Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has invited bids to import LNG from international suppliers to ship four cargoes next month.

The companies are asked to submit bids by June 23 for the required cargoes.

Bids are invited from reputed companies to ship cargo in a delivery window on 3-4 July, second cargo on 08-09 July, third cargo on 25-26 July, and last cargo on 30-31 July, the document of the company said.

Each cargo will have a volumetric quantity of 140,000m3 which would help ease the country to address the power shortages.

It is pertinent to mention that given supply chain disruption globally owing to the Russia-Ukraine war, and rising Asian LNG spot prices, the import of the aforementioned cargoes may be a challenging task for PLL.

PLL has been mandated by the government to carry out the business of buying, importing, storing LNG, distributing, transporting, metering, and selling natural gas in order to meet the country’s gas requirements.
