PKR weakens by 15 paisa against USD

June 03, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 14.94 paisa or 0.05% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.12 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.5 and a low (ask) of 284.4.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 284.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR deteriorated 5.78 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 322.12 compared to the previous value of 322.07.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 60.16 paisa or 0.16% to 381.43 compared to 382.03 a day ago.

The local unit decreased 28.81 paisa or 0.08% against Swiss franc to close at 345.02.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.28 paisa or 0.14% to close the session at 1.9757 versus 1.9729 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 7.60 paisa or 0.19% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.24 from 39.16.

The local currency depreciated by 5.99 paisa or 0.08% against Saudi Riyal to 75.21. While it depreciated by 4.07 paisa or 0.05% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.81.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 3.78 rupees or 1.34%. While it has deteriorated 3.57 rupees or 1.27% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
