PKR weakens by 13 paisa against USD

April 14, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 13.32 paisa or 0.05% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.60 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.47.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.65 and a low (ask) of 280.60.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.00 for buying and 282.15 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 79.68 paisa or 0.25% against the Euro, closing at 319.76 compared to the previous value of 318.96.
Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 3.12 rupees or 0.85% to 369.66 compared to 366.54 a day ago.
The local unit increased 97.42 paisa or 0.28% against Swiss franc to close at 343.29.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 0.05 paisa or 0.03% to close the session at 1.9633 versus 1.9628 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee decreased 10.66 paisa or 0.28% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.42 from 38.31.
The local currency weakened by 5.34 paisa or 0.07% against Saudi Riyal to 74.77. While it decreased by 3.73 paisa or 0.05% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.39.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 2.26 rupees or 0.81%. While it has weakened 2.05 rupees or 0.73% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.84% and 12.09%.
