PKR gains 9 paisa per USD

April 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 9.43 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.47 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.56.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.65 and a low (ask) of 280.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280 for buying and 282 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 40.13 paisa or 0.13% against the Euro, closing at 308.34 compared to the previous value of 307.94.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 3.94 rupees or 1.07% to 364.70 compared to 368.64 a day ago.

The local unit depreciated 4.71 rupees or 1.46% against Swiss franc to close at 327.88.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 1.02 paisa or 0.54% to close the session at 1.9153 versus 1.9051 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 9.23 paisa or 0.24% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.51 from 38.42.

The local currency rose by 3.71 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 74.75. While it rose by 2.56 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.36.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has depreciated against the US Dollar by 2.12 rupees or 0.76%. While it has fell 1.92 rupees or 0.68% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.87% and 12.12%.
