PKR falls 4 paisa per USD

May 14, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 4.34 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.72 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.67.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.75 and a low (ask) of 281.70.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 283.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR deteriorated 2.81 rupees or 0.90% against the Euro, closing at 315.93 compared to the previous value of 313.12.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 3.24 rupees or 0.87% to 375.42 compared to 372.17 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 1.05 rupees or 0.31% against Swiss franc to close at 336.18.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value depreciated 1.18 paisa or 0.62% to close the session at 1.9168 versus 1.9050 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 6.10 paisa or 0.16% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.07 from 39.13.

The local currency fell by 1.16 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 75.11. While it deteriorated by 0.87 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.70.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 3.37 rupees or 1.20%. While it has weakened 3.17 rupees or 1.12% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.19% and 11.44%.
