PKR falls 11 paisa per USD

May 13, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 10.60 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle at PKR 281.67 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.57.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.70 and a low (ask) of 281.60.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 283.70 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 25.87 paisa or 0.08% against the Euro, closing at 313.12 compared to the previous value of 312.86.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 1.10 rupees or 0.30% to 372.17 compared to 371.08 a day ago.

The local unit fell 1.77 rupees or 0.53% against Swiss franc to close at 335.13.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.07 paisa or 0.04% to close the session at 1.9050 versus 1.9043 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 10.03 paisa or 0.26% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.13 from 39.03.

The local currency weakened by 2.92 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 75.10. While it weakened by 3.31 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.69.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 3.33 rupees or 1.18%. While it has fell 3.12 rupees or 1.11% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged at 11.19% and 11.44%.
