PKR falls 10 paisa per USD

June 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 10.28 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.22 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.12.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.5 and a low (ask) of 284.4.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 284.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 84.22 paisa or 0.26% against the Euro, closing at 321.28 compared to the previous value of 322.12.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 29.42 paisa or 0.08% to 381.72 compared to 381.43 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 2.33 rupees or 0.67% against Swiss franc to close at 342.69.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 1.77 paisa or 0.90% to close the session at 1.9580 versus 1.9757 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 0.72 paisa or 0.02% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.25 from 39.24.

The local currency fell by 3.54 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 75.25. While it deteriorated by 2.80 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.84.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has deteriorated against the US Dollar by 3.88 rupees or 1.38%. While it has decreased 3.67 rupees or 1.30% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.91% and 11.16%.
