December 06, 2024 (MLN): Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PSX: PIBTL) announced today that Port Qasim Authority has approved the handling of PIBT's coal vessels at Marginal Wharves 3&4, Port Qasim until normal operations are fully restored at the company.
PIBTL disclosed on Wednesday that its infrastructure has suffered significant damage due to a serious fire incident at the terminal during the discharge of coal cargo.
In a notice to its customers, the company stated that the fire occurred due to circumstances beyond PIBTL’s reasonable control, causing significant damage to a portion of the terminal and partially affecting its ability to fulfill its obligations.
However, yesterday, PIBTL assured all concerned stakeholders that operations at the PIBT have continued unabated despite a fire incident on November 19, 2024, which caused considerable damage to some terminal infrastructure. the company's filing on PSX was revealed today.
Swift action by PIBT ensured that alternate arrangements were made to maintain cargo discharge operations, minimizing customer disruption.
