April 24, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s strides in expanding financial access for women took center stage in a meeting between Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on the sidelines of the IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings.

The discussion focused on the country’s ongoing efforts under the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, which has aimed to bring more Pakistani women into the formal financial system with support from global partners.

Aurangzeb emphasized that financial empowerment, education, and entrepreneurship for women and girls remain core priorities for the government.

He highlighted the need to further advance digital access and build robust data-sharing frameworks to accelerate inclusive finance.

Queen Máxima, a global advocate for financial inclusion, welcomed the progress and reiterated the importance of sustained collaboration to close gender gaps in access to financial tools and services.
