Pakistan’s Weekly SPI increases by 0.54 Percent

October 5, 2018 (MLN): The Weekly SPI for the combined group increased by 0.54 percent compared to previous week (Sep 27, 2018) and 2.02 percent compared to the corresponding period from last year (Oct 05, 2017) according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Of the 53 items monitored, the average prices of 17 items increased, 7 items recorded a decrease while that of 29 items remained unchanged.

SPI for the lowest income group (Upto Rs.8000) increased by 0.4% over the index published last week (September 27, 2018) and 0.69% over the index published last year (October 5,2017), which are the smallest increases amongst all the income groups.

Meanwhile, SPI for the highest income group (Above Rs.35000) recorded 0.59% increase on a week-on-week basis, and 2.97% increase on a year-on-year basis, which are the largest increases as compared to all income groups
