Pakistan’s imports stood at $3.7bn by July 25: Miftah Ismail

July 26, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan’s imports as of July 25 were recorded at $3.758 billion, Minister for Finance and Revenue, Dr Miftah Ismail on Tuesday said.
“ Our total imports are likely to be $4.824bn”, the minister said on his official Twitter account.
He expressed the hope that the country’s imports would be less than exports and remittances.
In the previous month, the trade deficit clocked in at $4.85bn, depicting a growth of 37% YoY, mainly due to higher imports which were recorded at $7.74bn.
During FY22, Pakistan's trade deficit reached an all-time high of $48.67bn compared to $30.9bn in FY21, as imports surged by 43% YoY to $80.5bn, while exports showed a growth of 27% to stand at $31.85bn in FY22.
