March 26, 2025 (MLN): A significant shift in travel priorities across Pakistan during Ramadan shows more Pakistanis opting for ride-hailing services to connect with loved ones for Eid-ul-Fitr, highlighting the growing reliance on convenient and flexible transportation solutions, a recent inDrive survey reveals.

The inDrive survey highlights key travel patterns during Ramadan.

While the initial weeks see more work and home commutes, the approach of Eid-ul-Fitr triggers a significant wave of travel as millions head back to their hometowns.

This year, inDrive has witnessed a substantial increase in bookings, reflecting this festive migration, according to the press release issued today.

Passengers are increasingly valuing the flexibility offered by inDrive.City to City.

The platform empowers users to customize every aspect of their ride, from selecting the car model and driver rating to choosing between private or shared options.

Notably, shared rides have accounted for a significant 30% of all orders during Ramadan, demonstrating a growing preference for cost-effective and sociable travel, especially for those traveling longer distances to reunite with family.

Popular routes during this period further illustrate the strong desire for family connections.

For instance, travel from Lahore to Gujranwala is a frequent choice, with an average fare around Rs3,300.

The journey from Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Lahore, crucial for many families, averages Rs8,300.

Other key routes include Gujranwala to Lahore at approximately Rs3,000 and travel to Faisalabad averaging around Rs5,200.

The average trip duration during Ramadan is typically between 2.5 to 3 hours, covering a distance of approximately 150 km.

While initial bookings might see more price negotiation, the increasing demand as Eid approaches often reflects the higher value placed on reaching loved ones safely and conveniently.

"This Ramadan has shown a remarkable surge in intercity travel as families eagerly anticipate Eid-ul-Fitr," says Muhammad Awais, Country Lead of inDrive Pakistan.

"Our data clearly indicates that more Pakistanis are opting for ride-hailing services like inDrive to navigate these journeys, prioritizing comfort, safety, and the ability to tailor their travel experience to their specific needs," he added.

"At inDrive, we understand the importance of these family reunions during Ramadan," adds Muhammad Awais.

"Our platform is designed to make every journey easier, safer, and more affordable," he added.

He further mentioned that whether you plan your trip in advance or need a last-minute ride, inDrive adapts to your travel needs, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience as you connect with your loved ones this Eid.
