Pakistani Rupee holds its ground

April 13, 2020 (MLN): Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed today's trading session relatively unchanged against the USD with the rate remaing stable at PKR 166.83.

The rupee traded within a very narrow range of 20 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 166.80 and an intraday Low offer of 166.70.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 167/168.5 per USD.

Meanwhile, the currency lost 67 paisa to the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 208.7 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 208.04 per GBP.

On the other hand, PKR's value strengthened by 5 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 182.38 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an Open Market Operation in which it injected Rs.107.5 billion for 4 days at 11.01 percent.

The overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 10.90/11.10 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 10.95/11.00 percent.
