Pakistan, Syria agree to strengthen bilateral ties

June 03, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Syria have agreed to boost their bilateral exchanges to further strengthen their longstanding ties.
During a meeting in Damascus, a Pakistani delegation led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Middle East), Shehryar Akbar Khan, held discussions with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani.
The two sides explored various areas of cooperation with the aim of enhancing engagement across fields of mutual interest, as per the press release issued.
Ambassador Shehryar Akbar reaffirmed Pakistan's continued support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria, expressing Pakistan's readiness to deepen collaboration both bilaterally and in multilateral forums.
The meeting highlighted the enduring and friendly relationship between the two nations.
