April 23, 2025 (MLN): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, has requested financial assistance from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) for Pakistan’s strategic N-25 infrastructure project.

The request was made during a meeting with SFD CEO Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Murshid on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings 2025.

The Minister emphasised the project's importance in enhancing regional connectivity and economic development, particularly in Balochistan.

Highlighting Pakistan’s improved macroeconomic indicators and the recent credit rating upgrade by Moody’s, Senator Aurangzeb noted growing investor confidence and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to infrastructure-led growth.

The N-25 highway, also known as the RCD Highway, links Karachi to Quetta and further to the Pakistan-Iran border, serving as a vital trade and transit corridor.

The SFD's potential involvement in the project is expected to boost bilateral economic cooperation and contribute to Pakistan’s long-term development goals.
