January 31, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan remains committed to strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia through cooperation on food security and climate change, as reiterated by Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, who emphasized advancing bilateral relations and collaboration across all sectors.

This commitment was underscored at the King Salman Relief Shelter event, where Hussain participated as the Chief Guest.

The event marked a significant milestone in the enduring and historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting their shared commitment to humanitarian aid and development.

On this occasion, Rana Tanveer Hussain conveyed deep gratitude to the Saudi government and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KS Relief) for their steadfast support in delivering essential relief assistance to the people of Pakistan.

He highlighted that Saudi Arabia has played a key role in Pakistan’s agricultural development, fostering modern farming techniques, irrigation systems, and food security measures.

During the event, KS Relief distributed essential relief items and winter kits among deserving individuals, ensuring assistance reaches those in need, according to the press release.

The Minister praised KS Relief for its ongoing efforts in addressing natural disasters, poverty, and food insecurity, describing their initiatives as highly commendable.

He also highlighted that Saudi investment in Pakistan’s agriculture sector has played a pivotal role in boosting crop production and modernizing farming practices.

The collaboration between the two nations has strengthened food security and ensured sustainable development.

KS Relief’s humanitarian initiatives extend beyond immediate relief efforts, contributing to healthcare, education, and economic stability in Pakistan.

The Minister underscored that Saudi Arabia’s support in these areas remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s progress.

It was also noted that in 2023 alone, KS Relief provided over 110 million meals globally, including a significant share for Pakistan.

This reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to eradicating hunger and improving global humanitarian efforts.

The event concluded with a note of appreciation for KS Relief’s tireless efforts in uplifting communities and providing hope to those in need.
